Claire Chowne

Claire has over 20 years of recruitment experience, beginning her career in 2001, specialising in Life & Health actuarial permanent and interim recruitment. Over the following two decades, she has built extensive expertise across the insurance recruitment market, developing long-standing relationships with both clients and candidates.

On joining Bolton Associates in 2015, Claire established the firm’s Analytics desk, recruiting across the Lloyd’s and London Market, Retail insurers, and regional insurance markets. In 2019, she expanded the practice by launching the Catastrophe Modelling and Exposure Management desk, where she has built a strong reputation as a specialist recruiter in the field. In recognition of her expertise and leadership, Claire was appointed Head of Catastrophe Modelling and Exposure Management in 2026.

Claire works with professionals at every stage of their careers and is known for building trusted, long-term partnerships with both clients and candidates. Her collaborative, relationship-led approach has resulted in a high level of repeat business and referrals throughout her career.

Between 2012 and 2015, Claire took a career break from recruitment to complete a Master’s degree in Building Surveying at London South Bank University. She then worked as a Valuations Surveyor for two years before returning to recruitment. Her experience outside the recruitment industry has given her a broader commercial perspective and further strengthened her consultative approach.
